Harry Kroto

On April 30th, English chemist Harry Kroto passed away. Kroto shared the 1996 Nobel Prize in chemistry with Robert Curl and Richard Smalley for their discovery of buckminsterfullerenes: carbon molecules that resemble the geodesic domes popularized by architect Richard Buckminster Fuller. Hence, the name “bucky-ball”.
